Newfoundland Adopts Access Advisor Program
Tourism Quality Assurance NL Inc. has recognized the importance of accessibility in the province and has partnered with the Access Advisor to broaden its quality assurance programming mandate.
Tourism Quality Assurance NL plans to unveil Access Advisor at Hospitality NL’s Annual Conference in St. John’s March 1-3, 2016.
“I am genuinely excited about the potential social and economic benefits that will be generated by a joint partnership between Access Advisor and Tourism Quality Assurance NL. This partnership will significantly enhance Newfoundland’s accessiblity, translating into increased visitation to the region and a boost to the travel industry,” said Program Manager, Nancy McGrath.
Sensitivity Training a Success
Access Advisor would like to thank everyone who attended our Sensitivity Training Seminar on January 27th at the Rodd Royalty especially Nancymarie Aresenault from the PEI Council of People with Disabilities, and Debbie Maund from CDAC’s Communications Access Now who partnered with Access Advisor for the event. Nancymarie and Debbie were able to share their expertise with attendees, and feedback from the event has been extremely positive. PEI National Parks Focuses on Accessibility
Access Advisor has continued to work with Parks Canada in preparation for their 2016 season as they continue to make significant improvements to ensure “Everyone is Welcome” at all National Parks and Historic Sites across the Island. Recent updates include the installation of an accessible oTentik at Cavendish Campground and an accessible playground at Dalvay Beach!
